THE COMMISSION OF EDUCATION AND CIVIL LIBERTIES This committee is to act in liaison and advisory capacities in establishing ways in which our sorority shall attack the problems of civil liberties, integration and general education. EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION HYPERTENSION SENIOR TEACHERS LEGISLATIVE ACTIVITIES AFFECTING WOMEN IN EDUCATION This committee is to provide a liaison between the sorority and governmental agencies concerned with health, education and welfare of children and youth and between the sorority and the administrative and executive branches of state and federal government.' ADULT EDUCATION THis project is to plan activities to meet the needs of adult citizens in specific areas. ACHIEVEMENT AWARD The purpose of this award is to recognize and encourage meritorious achievement among Phi Delta Kappa Sorors by putting such accomplishments before the public. READING POWER Each chapter shall have a reading program. TEACH-A-RAMA This program is to promote Professional Growth, Ethics, Attitudes and Cultural Standards, to acquaint teachers, parents and community with the problems of the profession as related to the needs of youth. Also to provide job orientation for teachers near to the profession. YOUTH GUIDANCE XINOS Through Guidance Clubs in our local chapters we bring together girls ages 14 to 19 with the following objectives in mind: To inspire high educational, moral and social standards of our youth. To aid in the development of well-rounded individuals. To provide opportunities for broadening the scope of youthful activities. To develop a sense of social educational responsibility. KAPPA OMICRON TAU This is a College Guidance Program that will interest young teachers in joining the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa as soon after graduation and job assignment as possible. 219
