• Participates in national and international education assistance programs including national scholarship programs and projects in Third World nations.
• Sponsors national programs and conferences on leadership training, health, and education.
• Holds annual national conventions during which local club members join with district and national leaders to recognize the year's achievements, to gather information, to establish vital networks of communication, to define directions for the coming year, and to renew their commitment to NANBPW goals.

On the local level, NANBPW clubs identify and act upon the special needs of their communities. Workshops, programs, and activities address a wide range of concerns:
• Employment and economic development
• Aging
• Professional growth and development
• Working mothers
• Divorce and child custody
• Sex and race discrimination
• Housing
• Health
• Women in government
• Myths about black women
• Cultural enrichment
• Community service
• Local, state, and national politics
