ABOUT THE N.Ph.A.

The National Pharmaceutical Association was organized in Washington, D.C. on May 30, 1947, to unite minority pharmacists and to provide a means whereby these pharmacists could contribute to their common improvement, share their experiences, and contribute to the public good. Active membership has now grown to over three hundred pharmacists from various sections of the country.

To enhance its primary objectives, the National Pharmaceutical Association has also striven to uphold the high professional ethics and ideals in the practice of pharmacy. The Association is justly proud of its members' record of dedication and service not only to the profession of pharmacy, but also to the community as a whole. Minority pharmacists have contributed importantly in recent years to Clinical Pharmacy through their interdisciplinary relations with other providers of health care services to public education and treatment of social and health problems.

Since August 1972, the Student National Pharmaceutical Association has been officially recognized. It is anticipated that this arm of the Association will develop into a major stimulating force within the senior organization.

The Association meets annually throughout the country. At this time, in addition to conducting the Association's business, programs are focused on continuing education.
