[[caption]] Famous artist Charles Lilly is shown here with one of four of his paintings, which were recently donated to the United Negro College Fund by National Distillers Products Company. The contribution, valued at more than $20,000, was announced at the fund-raising dinner for the United Negro College Fund, held annually by the Bottle and Cork Sales Club of New York.

National Distillers originally commissioned Mr. Lilly to create the four oil-on-canvas paintings—each "freezing" an exciting instant in football, basketball, baseball or boxing—for a recent Windsor Canadian Whisky advertising campaign. [[/caption]]

These four original oil-on-canvas paintings were commissioned by Windsor Supreme Canadian to depict dramatic moments in sports. Distinguished Black artist Charles Lilly was asked to freeze the four most exciting instances in basketball, boxing football and baseball for Windsor's sports campaign.
