Atlanta philanthropist Robert W. Woodruff, whose contributions to society have historically been made anonymously, breaks precedence in publicly contributing a $7 million gift to the Atlanta University Center library's $21 million national fund raising campaign. The gift of securities, being presented here to AUC Chancellor Charles Merideth, brings total funds raised for the library to $13 million, sufficient to guarantee construction of the building. The new library will serve AUC's six institutions including Atlanta University, Clark College, Morehouse College, Morris Brown College, Spelman College, and the International Theological Center.
