NAACP Honoree - Charles T. Williams (second right,) vice president and a director of Schenley Affiliated Brands Corp. accepts his Roy Wilkins Humanitarium Award from Benjamin L. Hooks, executive director of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), at a gala awards dinner in New York City honoring the late Mr. Wilkins, NAACP's executive director for nearly 50 years. Right is Hazel N. Dukes, president of the New York State Conference of Branches of the NAACP, and second left is Charles L. Brown, chairman of the NAACP Metropolitan Council of Branches, the evening's host organization. Mr. Williams was cited for "your unselfish concern for your fellowman and your sincere efforts to help thousands of organizations and individuals through the years as a volunteer and as an extension of Schenley...." Similar awards were bestowed on Pearl Bailey, the singer, and on Chairman Arthur Hauspurg of Con Edison of New York, Inc.
