Hundreds of Harlemites and New Yorkers Hail Dedication Ceremony of Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. State Office Building.
Assemblywoman Geraldine L. Daniels Urges Black People to Carry Out Powell's Mandate to Register and vote.

"This is a great day in Harlem, New York State, the United States of America, and the world.  That is the re-naming of this building from the Harlem State Office Building to the Adam Clayton Powell, Jr, State Building", said Assemblywoman Geraldint L. Daniels (Democrat-Liberal, Harlem's 70th A.D.) at the dedication ceremony held in the heart of Harlem on September 10, 1983.
  Hundreds of Harlemites and New Yorkes attended the historic occasion and many came from all parts of the United States.
  Family members of the late Congressman Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. who were invited to attend the affair were: Mrs. Isabelle Powell (his first wife); Adam Clayton Powell III and his family; and Adam Clayton Powell, IV and his family.  Adam Clayton Powell, III's mother was the late fame Hazel Scott.
