d. Chi Care Calls: This program provides a system for checking on the well-being of senior citizens and giving travel assistance in the community (e.g.transportation for shopping, to clinics, etc.) Volunteer services to hospitalized persons and/or Nursing Home residents are also provided.

3. Recruitment and Retention
Local chapters have developed and implemented programs designed to promote the interest of high-ability students in nursing careers. Low achievers interested in nursing are assisted in developing educational skills needed to quality for admission nursing programs. Various strategies are carried out to assist nursing students to progress in nursing programs by means of tutorial services, big sisters, and mentor relationships.

4. Educational Scholarships
Chi Eta Phi Sorority has long been aware of the continuing difficulty of obtaining a basic advanced education due to the ever-increasing cost. One of the sorority's major aims, therefore, has been to provide scholarships to candidates who meet the criteria established. The graduate chapters of the sorority give awards annually of one or more scholarships to deserving students in their local communities. Additionally, chapters contribute to the Aliene Ewell Scholarship by supporting the Lucille Tyler Scales Futurama Project [National Scholarship Fund]. Each chapter plans and implements at least one fundraising activity a year for the specific purpose of supporting this Project.

The Aliene Ewell scholarships are awarded at Boule annually.

5. Tubman Demonstration School(TDS)Project
The sorority assumes the responsibility of the continuous upkeep and furnishings of a health room as [[at?]] the TDS in Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa. In addition, milk and vitamins are provided for each student daily.

6.Networking
The Sorority is composed of registered professional nurses and nursing students. We recognize the absolute necessity to support directly and/or indirectly, institutions of higher learning and other organizations such as foundations, and associations concerning with health care services.

Networking formed by the sorority has included such organizations as the National Black Nurses Association(NBNA); American Nurses Association, Inc.(ANA); National League for Nursing(NLN); Nurses Coalition for Action in Politics(NCAP); National Association for the Advancement of Colored People(NAACP); National Council of Negro Women(NCNW); United Negro College Fund(UNCF); National Urban League; American Red Cross; American Cancer Society; and others.

Accomplishments since 1966:

1. Publication of the History of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. 1932-1967 by Helen Sullivan Miller

2. Restored the grave of Mary E. Mahoney, 1945-1926, The first Black Professional Nurse. 1973.

3. September 1, 1984 sponsored the first National Pilgrimage honoring Mary Eliza Mahoney.

4. Hosted Boule' in Monrovia, Liberia. West Africa in 1978.

5. Developed national programs to address health, social, and economic problems affecting certain target populations.
