CEBA
Communications Excellence to Black Audiences
Oct. 24, 1985 - Hilton, N.Y.

The World Institute of Black Communications
is a non-profit corporation designed to
"increase the awareness of the ever expanding
value of the Black consumer market to the
total economy." The Institute has plans that
include researching this market, compiling
data on the consumption trends of Black
Americans nationwide, and working with
corporations and advertising agencies to
increase the awareness of the profit potential
found in Black communities through the
country.
One of the greatest strengths of America, and
there are many, is the competitive instinct best
exemplified by our free enterprise system. It
was out of an awareness of the positive value
of America's desire to achieve and excel, that
the CEBA Awards were established.
CEBA, an acronym for Communications
Excellence to Black Audiences, is designed to
award those corporations and advertising
agencies that have had the wisdom, insight,
and yes, the intestinal fortitude to pursue and
persevere in an increasingly profitable and
exciting market...the Black consumer market.
