The Coca-Cola Company has sold portions of its stock in the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of New York to J. Bruce Llewellyn, and Julius ("Dr.J.") Erving. The sale represents one of the largest minority ownerships of a bottling company in the soft drink industry. Mr. Erving said, "Being a shareholder is the strongest indication I can think of to show my commitment to the company's products and to bottlers of Coca-Cola across the country."

J. Bruce Llewellyn is President of the Fedco Food Stores of New York. He and his new partner will be involved in the operations of the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Philadelphia that was recently sold to the New York Company. "I look forward to working with Julius to further enhance our position in the Philadelphia marketplace," said Mr. Llewellyn.

Coke, Tab, Sprite and diet Coke welcome the new co-owners. In addition to another businessman, it's nice to have a "Doctor" in the family.
