BRIDGING THE GAP THROUGH SEGMENTED MARKETING

Joel P. Martin, a petite and disarmingly beautiful young woman, was voted President-Elect of the National Association of Market Developers at their national convention held in May (1985) at the McCormick Center Hotel in Chicago, Illinois.
Highly intelligent and radiant in her confidence, Joel P. Martin is President, J.P. Martin Associates, Inc., a Madison Avenue (New York City) advertising agency which is described in the industry as a full service agency. This denotes that the agency provides, for its clients, marketing services, research, public relations, placement and media material.
Ms. Martin was born in New York City but grew up in Toledo, Ohio, where she received her early education and was graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in visual communications. Married and a mother, she began her agency with offices in her home at Wingsdale, New York. Since those early beginnings J. P. Martin Associates has grown to such an extent that it is predicted that continuous growth at the same rate will soon place it in a position to challenge the "big guys" along the avenue.
In reflecting on the election of Ms. Martin, NAMD Chairman, LeBaron Taylor said, "It seems so very appropriate that in this year chosen to celebrate the Decade of The Woman, our membership choose a woman as President-Elect. It is a tribute to Joel's integrity, competence and talent, and we all look forward to working with her.
