JACKIE ROBINSON FOUNDATION ENDOWMENT CAMPAIGN GETS UNDERWAY with its first $100,000 pledge from Chesebrough-Pond's Inc. The Foundation plans to raise $2 million for its endowment fund which will insure its future growth and financial stability, thereby enhancing the Foundation's yearly fund-raising efforts which are largely committed to scholarship support.
The Jackie Robinson Foundation, a public, non-profit national foundation, was established in 1973 to help promising young people realize their personal aspirations and become leaders in their communities. Currently, the Foundation provides scholarships to 134 students in 64 colleges and universities across the country.
Chesebrough-Pond's Inc., headquartered in Westport, CT, is a diversified manufacturer and marketer of popular brand name consumer products and chemical products and services throughout the world.
