On last evening, I called a school meeting. Presented the subject of schools to them - what would be absolutely necessary to continue them &c - They promised not to allow the colored citizens of of others [[strikethrough]] citizens [[/strikethrough]] Cities to excel - And have now commenced to exhibit considerable interest. I also addressed the [[underlined]] colored people [[/underlined]] in Freedmen Camp, informed them what would now be required of them, in obtaining homes for Year 1866. Shall permit them to remain in camp until December 1st - when all must have homes or present visible means of honorable livelihood.

All remains quiet in this section of country. Lt East Sub Com F.B. at Macon writes, that contracts are being made for next year.
