had to run away to be free, which are quite liberal and with which the Negroes are Satisfied. Such contracts I have approved, when made in writing. I have found the Planters so far better disposed than I expected but of course the mean ones are not going to come first to my Office. I suppose some of them will have to be sent for. Can I draw Stationery or must it be bought?
