Sept 7th I arrived at Landshut and found Zenos Miller. It was like meeting a man from the dead, for he had been dead to us back in France since July 16th. I have him and "Bill" to thank for keeping me among the living for I was sick and hungry. He gave me Rice and milk and chocolate, which doesn't sound like much - but wait until you have been a Gefanger. I trust Zenos will never be hungry again, but if he is I hope to be there with a bushel of rice.
