Tuesday, Jan. 22, 1918

At last the great day has arrived- we go! thank heavens. The Major thinks we may leave just after dinner but nothing happens till 4 when we all are taxied to Hicks station.

Feeling that I have left something I go back to quarters and find my purse et hairbrush lying on the bed.

Freddie Ordway & Vasconcells & Raymond have some girls come down to train in their car and bid their aviator lovers goodby tearfully.

Am learning to play a eukeleli (is that the way to spell it)

Case of scarlet fever has been detected by [[/strikethrough]]Cap't[[/strikethrough]] Lieut Arnold. I am afraid we will have some trouble with that Scarlet Fever case when we get to Garden City.

I am reading The Harbor It makes quite an impression on me.
