I write to Anne Palmer and Mrs D. Bovaird telling of my presence in the vicinity of New York. 

Sit around all day read The Dar [Dark]] Star by Chambers and play the mandolin. 

In the P.M. mosey over to Hempstead and purchase a few little things such as insignia for my collar and some small wings of bronz to wear.
