Sunday, Feb. 3, 1918

Moy came back last night to camp.  Invited me back to Plainsfield with him.

Have dinner with his people  His father is a lawyer, rather interesting personage.  Two sisters seem to be very nice.
 
In the evening the whole family went to church and heard spirited sermon.

Weather indication favor a thaw.  The streets are covered with an 18 inch coat of solid ice.

Gordon's younger sister works in her fathers office.

Monday, Feb. 4, 1918               

To-day is a holiday for the Coal supply is so short that shops & business places close every Monday.

Gordon and I went into New York on a Commuters train.  G.V. took me to the New York Law School where he met some of his old friends.  After lunch we visited a Summary Court where there happened to be a Case of Rape on trial.  The details were very sordid and G.V. and I left before it was well begun.

Back to Plainsfield in the evening after G.V. had visited his girl in Brooklyn
