Wednesday, Feb 6, 1918            

Up for Breakfast about 8.20 A.M.  Saw Mrs. Bovaird off to the Hospital and wrote home.  Then went out to Hempstead  Didn't get there till 2 p.m. and had to telephone Mrs. Bovaird that I wouldn't be back for lunch.  Couldn't get my pay voucher check and froze my ears getting to Garden City from Camp with a loaded suitcase in my hand.  It certainly is as cold as it could be made.  Mrs. Bovaird gave me a helmet knit by Cecily;  Walk thru Lennox & Bronx to find Anne's appartment after telephoning her to expect me. To dinner with
