108 Thursday, April 18, 1918 Spirals again Up to 1000 metres did three spirals and lachéed to Altitude went up thru the clouds to 11800 feet stayed there for 15 min. and came down. The left lower wingtip had a rent in the fabric when I taxied into the hangars. Started out at 5.30 on cross-country for Vinueil Flew thru clouds at 200 metres for two hours - came to field with Caudron in it Landed and crashed standing the old green bus on the nose in a ditch. 109 Friday, April 19, 1918 Due to M.H. Tartinville Percepteur of Lignières I had no trouble about lodging Up early 8.30 AM. Had a breakfast and go back out to the field Spend a couple of hours swinging the prop for the old caudron. About 11 o'clock the truck and wrecking party arrived and we took the wings off changed a wheel. Had dinner at the Hotel de la Croix Verte. Then on back to Issoudun.
