Monday, April 22, 1918

Grant leaves for Paris. Huston, West, Bryant and others leave the squadron possibly to be ferry pilots.
 
Do my cross country to Vinueil and Romorantine in the morning Lashéed to Acrobatics in p.m. First part of the afternoon watch Hill, Hoover, Martin, and Clark do their acrobatics (wing slips) Then go up and do my vris, renversment, vertical virage O'Neil did some fine renversments. Then O'Neil and I went up after 7 PM. and did our ""wing slips" landing at the main field.

First Reveille formation at field 5. Clapp slept in. At 8.30 we leave for Field 7. First I got my mandolin from Remoldi who repaired it and improved it a lot. Hill Clark O'Neil and Martin come over in the same party.
 
Fired 50 rounds at the Clay pidgeons score [[strikethrough]] 12 & 9 [[/strikethrough]] 8 7. Visited the machine gun range. Saw a Vickers and Lewis G.V. May comes over every morning to shoot Tough oats that he got put at the tail end of flying list. Three hops before lunch. Two formations with Martin and Southwick in the afternoon went to Vierzon & got lost first trip
