Beautiful weather. I lead a formation all over the country from Chateroux to Le Blanc & around by Levrou [[Levroux]] back to camp. Another formation before dinner.

In afternoon word came to Lt Quentine Roosevelt that storm is headed this way from Tours So we don't go on altitude formation to 5000 metres

Stunt formation lead by Rucker great fun. Saw a pretty mock combat between 2 120ies from field 8.

Russell has engine fly to pieces at 1000 metres Part of cowl came back and smash wind shield tipped over in field near Rouleurs. Ingersoll reported killed in spin at Spirrals

Two men going to get a cross-country trip morning Younger and Graham are going to Tours. It is too cloudy for flying this morning

Did traps score 12 & 8 Heard Russell & Briggs talk on the situation at Hicks Field.

At 1.45 we all left for the main field in order to [[strikethrough]] that we [[/strikethrough]] attend Ingersoll's funeral. Reunion of 27 & 139. I was one of the pall bearers. After the service I went with Hoover down to the hospital to see Hunt and found MacArthur there also

Poor Hunt looked rather bumpy.
