Lost a piece of a funnel in my auxiliary gas tank and the mechanics started to take the tank out when by luck on sticking a crooked pipe in the tank the funnel came out with it. Machine should be ready to test by this afternoon.

P.M. I got a chance to cyncronize my gears so oui! oui! New Machine gun officer Cosgrove helped Taxied it back to hangar and just as I got to hangar Master Switch went blooey and I crashed her in the hangar. Both upper wings longeron and undercarriage Pop

Epiez to Toul
Friday, May 31, 1918

News comes that we leave for Toul, this a.m. All pilots with busses fly them to aerodrome. Much bustle.

Wanny gets in bad by talking back to Maj when the Major is wraught up. C. Flight gets off and lands successfully at Toul - all but Clapp who comes down with engine trouble. I get to ride over with Freddie Ordway in Major Bonnell's Packard, via Colombey Get out May Check's from Q.M.

Spent afternoon getting settled. Go down to Toul and get dinner in evening Enjoyable change

Toul is a nice Town
