Saturday, June 15, 1918

Supposed to be on alert at 630 A.M. Bad weather so it was called off.

Spent morning at Hangars getting new ships in Shape Number 14 17 are feeling their oats and will be careening thru space soon. #18 is being taken down. Found one piston cracked, piston rods loose piston rings burned & cylinders full of Carbon.

Went to Nancy in Fiat in P.M. Had a tryon at La Belle JardiniƩre. Took supper with 27th at a Restaurant "Brassiere de Seg' Saw a Protestant Temple in Nancy. Came back early. 

"C" flight on for Protect Mission. 8.15 Thiocourt

Sunday, June 16, 1918

Dud Morning. "C" Flight was supposed to be on for 4.30 patrol (alert). Operations offices got twisted so no one from squadron was up till 7 A.M. Result. - 5 Alerts never answered. C'est domage. 

This p.m. we have each squadron put on a circus 27th Has 14 planes in on the show not bad for first trial. 

Major Anstrum present. Maj. Atckinson thinks the Gargoyle emblem pretty good. MacA and I discuss getting a balloon. MacA goes up to visit Balloon Squadron & get dope.
