I woke up about 5:00 A.M. We were just passing through Worchester when I got up. Between Wash. and N.Y. we averaged 71 mi/hr. We had a light breakfast very light after which we cleaned up.
The Sarg. in Charge of our car told us that we had to clean up our car after dinner. This was the only work I had during the trip. The scenery was very beautiful all the way up from New York. We arrived at Bangor R.R. Yards at 1:27 P.M. not quite twenty four hours to make about a thousand miles. According to figures we averaged 41.6 mi/hr. When we got off of the troop train we boarded Army trucks. The Bangor News Photographers took several pictures of all the soldiers. The trip was short but sweet. The people seem very friendly so far. I hope we can up hold our reputation. The first sight of the field and all the new (June Mom)
