I got up at 6:15 and after cleaning up I had breakfast. We marched down to the parade grounds where P.F.C. Earley was presented a medal for heroism at Langley Field Va. Mar. 6, 1941. The presentation was broadcast and pictures were taken. I got to work about 9:30. After Dinner I wrote some letters and cards to my friends back home. Right after supper Walley, Busch & I went out to Parsons to get Valma and then after buy some marshmallows and potato chips we went out to Dressers. After Introducing everybody we formed a hillbilly band called the "Bucksport Bumpkin Huskers". I played the jug for my part in the band. Jean was there too. After a bunch of hot dogs and buns and milk we played a rope game, spin the bottle and post office. Jean brought a friend, another nurse, along and was she ever nice.
