I got up at 0650 E and after the usual duties I had breakfast. During the morning I turned in all my field equipment and bedding. I am going to sleep in Dixies bed tonight because he is on guard. I called Valma and thanked them for the good times I had Xmas. I drew my money for rations at the F.D. six dollars in all. Said good-by to Lt. Clark + Sgt. Busch and then had supper. Had all my luggage taken down to the station and then went to the 2000 E show with Walley + Gus, Bed 2300 E

I can hardly believe that my chance has come at last.
