Clear-Cloudy APRIL 3 45
Up at 0730C After cleaning up I had breakfast while the Porter made up my bunk. I then watched the scenery and read awhile until we got to Chicago. Arrived there about twelve fifteen. The next train for Albany was at 1615C so I called Mary Ann [[Song?]] at St. Anthonys Hospital. Was she surprised? I then took the "L" out to the hospital. She was in the Chapel when I got there so I waited until she came out. What a greeting! Really I was glad to see her and I believe she was a little tickled to see me. We went up to the nurses quarters and then after she changed clothes we went for a walk in Douglas Park. I also took her picture. I never knew Mary Ann very well but we both acted as though we were brother & sister. We even held hands going around the park. I then said good-by to her at the "L" station and then caught the train out of the La Salle station. Went to sleep in the pullman about 1830C but I couldn't sleep. I kept thinking of Mary Ann & getting home.
