Up at 1000A. Went to 1030 mass at the theater. After dinner I read awhile then I went over to one of the new gyms and got a saxophone. At the lab I tried to play it with little success. It's going to be a difficult instrument to play but I'm willing to give it a try. About 1430A I met Mayo and we walked about 3 mi's to Gander Lake. The docks are very nice. About half a dozen small boats and two PB5Y's Catalina Flying boats were on the lake. It's a very nice lake but never freezes over in the winter. Has a high content of iron because the water is a light yellow. Got a ride back from a Ferry Command truck. After supper tried to play the sax. Mac tried it to. Wrote a letter to Yolanda & Lil. Played pool awhile then read "The Gangs of New York" until 2400A.
The book is very good N.Y. used to be a corrupt city.
