Cloudy-Rain 65
Up at 1000A. I went to mass at the theater. After dinner, which was very good, I pressed my pants and cleaned up. I met Midge M at the little yellow school house. We went for a walk down to Gander Lake where we saw a Catalina (cat) land. It started to rain so we bummed a ride back on the Ferry Command Bus. We had a swell time just being company for one another. Midge wore a pair of red slacks and a G.I. field coat. I wish she would be a little better looking but look what she has to put up with me. After supper I began writing H. B. a letter when Shabby told Mac & I that we had to go on guard. What a night rain & miserable a hell. We dressed and drew a rifel. We stayed at the Guard house for an hour when the decided they had to many guards so we went back to the barracks. Read awhile & to bed by 0015A.
