Low clouds.
NOVEMBER 10
45

Up at 0615A. After breakfast we went out to the field. It was quite clear so we took off and flew three strips of the big mosaic when we had to stop because of low cumulous [[cumulus]] clouds. Made a few pin points of Torbay. About four Col Fickle said he was going back to Gander. So, since the weather was scheduled to be bad the next few days I came back to Gander in the Duck the OA-9. I had a terrific headache but after supper I worked on the negs, lettering them. Scallan mixed up some Develops and as usual it wasn't any good so I had to do it over. My tooth still hurts. Bed 2330A.

While we were climbing up to 13000, four hurricane [[piolets?]] [[pilots]] dove on us and attacked in general for about a half hr. I followed them in the rear turrett [[turret]].

Transcription Notes:
The OA-9 is a type of amphibious flying boat used during WWII There is a "frigate" that is called a "hurricane bird". Otherwise, a piolet is that little pick-ax used in mountain climbing. A turret is the gun turret on bottom of plane in glass.
