was reduced to 110 [[small 'x']] [[?]] Captain advised evening back to land for coal, & as it was clearly the wisest and strongest thing to do I consented, shout it went against the grain to turn back after getting once started. But we have gained instead of last by it, as we could not have done anything at the ice for a while yet, & now we have a good supply of coal, nearly 200 tons.
   We left the ice 12th and arrived here las night, 15th.  Tonight we go north again, & expect to be at the ice by the 20th.  Then we hope to be able to break through & reach Cape Flaa by the end of the month or earl[[y]]
