I send all my journals, etc., to Laura, & I want her to call in good advice as to what to do with them in case I fail to get back. I do not want Mr. Baldwin to have anything to do with the journal or publishing the book & tell all other members of the expedition are under contract not to write, publish or lecture for two years without my consent.

If my life insurance should be collected I want all debts to Tramso or Norway paid, including 250 Kr. to Capt. T. Brunerie, Laurvig. The wages of men are debts of honor & must be paid. I do not care about anything else. If I lose my life other people can afford to lose the little they have put in. My wife & children should have every dollar they can get hold of. And you should have your money back, every penny of it for you have a family & cannot afford to lose it.

There may be some other obligations that come to the surface - I can't think
