I bought in Copenhagen opera glasses ones with a good range and can see many miles & of course objects not visible to the eye without them these of course aid me in seeing many interesting things otherwise would not see

have me a heavy high top shoes to wear on the Island,  2 pair Mittens and a cap with ear covering attachments now I have to get me a Jacket or something like it then  I am fixed, we often see what seams to be a cloud by use of the Glasses is found to be a Snow Covered mouting which indeed is a pretty sight 5 or more mi away, this morning the water was very smoothe but right now are in open sea with the wind blowing hard, many white caps, and the ship making considerable Many of the better class of People who go south for the winter to escape the long night are now returning north to their homes Oct. 23 to Jan 25th, it's one night up here. Wish I had a Camera & could use it could get somany views, enough for a lecture anyhow.  

The Copenhagen Papers called on me and all gave me quite a write up & the papers all over Norway are also publishing it. May 25th arrived at Tromsoe and can be found in Room 16-the hills about the town are covered with snow, a very backward spring here too.  the first Dog I saw there was Bev U Snow Ball you will remember he had photos of.  Will write more of this place before saling to the far north & mail this so it will go out first steamer.
