Motor started at 3:50 P.M. and with water on the troublesome journal we kept the motor going Tuesday June 8th 1909 Motor going all right with fair speed about 6 mi 10 am ohsite Bare Island with mild south wind All well on board, I only weak. Afternoon wind from N.E. but light and sunshiney. I am not smoking havent [[haven't]] smoked since Sat. and eaten but little. Saw a sealing ship going South. 7 PM wind steady + good N.E. 10:30 PM no ice Pilot reports - feeling better it is 11 PM. Motor working all day- O.K. Our crew of 16 men all Norwegans & a lively lot. Ships crew 7 & Pilot total 8.
