[[image]] FIVE PLANES DESTROYED AS ARMY HANGAR BURNS Fire swept the United States Army hangar at the Kansas City Airport early last night, destroying five planes and causing damage estimated at $300,000. A store of .45-caliber automatic ammunition in the structure began to explode, and flying bullets made the work of fighting the fire extremely hazardous. A score of parachutes and a large supply of plane parts and equipment were lost. (AP) Wirephoto
