Women Pilots On Police Duty
Los Angeles now has five aerial policewomen. Augmenting his male squadron of commercial and highly trained amateur pilots, who hold special police appointments and may be summoned to duty in any situation requiring expert flyers, Chief of Police Davis last week issued badged to five noted women pilots.
The new policewomen of the air are Mary Charles, Karena Shields, Bobbie Trout, Bettymay Furman Pretto Bell.
Following their appointments the aviatrices were entertained at a dinner by the Women's Peace Officers' Association of California and were inducted into membership in that organization[[...]]
