Mrs. Mary Charles Gilmore Oil Co., Ltd., 2324 E. 28th. St. Los Angeles, Calif. Dear Mrs. Charles:- May I again thank you for the very fine program that you gave us last month It was most interesting and delightful. Sincerely yours, Mrs. J. Homer Hough, Program Chairman Alhambra Woman's Club. April 6, 1935. Norman Okla Oct 12- 1932 Mrs Mary Charles Long Beach - Cal. Dear Mary Charles, Now that the bands have quit playing and I have become Just Roy again, I am going to take time to tell you what your letter meant to me first I can't conceive of anyone having such beautiful thoughts as you wrote to me, and I know that I am not worthy of the honor you bestow upon me, and you should hear folks rave when I read that paragraph about clean cut and honorable sportsmanship - they all join me when I say you were the one with the above, and I was just plain lucky, and since receiving your letter I have done many side slips just in thought of your sportsmanship. I'm very sorry about your trouble for I would like very much to have had a competitor with your sence of honor. I am sure all the pilots don't have the same feeling about me as you do. Fresno is staging an extensive air program as a part of a three day Armistice celebration. Our Club is expecting to be represented by eight or ten pilots who will take part in the air events, and who will leave Los Angeles on the morning of November 10th. Thirteen cities are combining in this celebration and two state conventions are meeting in Fresno at the same time. We feel that you would benefit by having a representative present at this aviation program and we shall be very happy to have Mary accompany us as such. Yours very truly, Gladys O'Donnell.
