Ground Crew Battles Heavy Wind to Bring Zeppelin Safely Down After Trip

Huge Airship Reserviced In Record Time In Preparation For Return Journey Across Atlantic
This remarkable Wirephoto, taken as the great Zeppelin Hindenburg landed at Lakehurst, N. J., yesterday after completing its second westward crossing of the North Atlantic, shows the ground crew struggling at the ropes to swing the tail of the ship into position. There was a strong ground wind at Lakehurst when the huge skyliner soared in from the sea. but the ground crew brought it to rest without great difficulty or undue delay. One of the passengers, Wilbur Platt of Baltimore, said the ship "stood on its nose" when a squall struck it Monday. He said it regained its equilibrium quickly and none of the passengers were alarmed. Fifty-one passengers, one more than the normal capacity, were on board when the dirigible began its return trip to Frankfort last night.

Sunnyvale Base Plans Undecided
WASHINGTON, Feb. 21. (U.P.)--The Navy has made no decision on the future use of Sunnyvale (Cal.) dirigible base, officials said tonight.
It was indicated the question will not be decided until after the naval board of inquiry has brought in its findings in the Macon disaster. Officials said they have not had the time to give the matter any consideration, but it is admitted unofficially that political pressure may be brought to convert the base into a landing field and base for airplanes.
