Babe Walker Will Attempt Delayed 10,000-Foot Jump
---
WEATHER permitting, airport visitors Sunday afternoon will have the opportunity to witness a delayed parachute drop from 10,000-foot altitude by Mrs. Babe Smith Walker, daring Akron aviatrix.

Phil Henderson of the national air race management will be here to witness the drop a try-out for a place on the race program he told Akronites Friday during a visit here to make preliminary arrangements for Labor day as Akron day at the races.

Mrs. Walker will be piloted by Mrs. Rubbye Berau, formerly of Akron but now a Clevelander, when she makes her drop.

Kenneth Scholter, 22-year-old flight instructor at Mid-City airport, holder of the American light plane altitude record, will attempt to break the world mark during the races. Scholter ascended to 17,467 feet from Ford airport, Dearborn, Mich., April 2, 1931 to set the American record. It excelled the world record but not by a sufficient margin to warrant official recognition.
