WOMAN PILOT HAS A NEW TRAVELAIR

Ray "Kitch" Kitchingman and H. Harter, ace pilots of Akron, Ohio, were expected to land a the Sky Harbor airport this afternoon with the airplane owned by Mrs. Rubye Berau, proprietor of The Canteen on South Boulevard. 

The aviators are bringing the ship here from the Cleveland for use by Mrs. Berau in taking aloft passengers and for quick charter trips to any point in the United States. The plane is a Travelair three place open biplane, powered by a Wright G6 whirlwind motor, and capable of a top speed of 135 miles an hour. It has a cruising speed of 100 miles an hour. 

Mrs. Berau holds a private pilot's license, having completed her training at Akron under Kitchingman. She is a member of the "Ninety-Niners," woman's flying club, and is one of the few woman pilots in the state and the only one in the vicinity of DeLand. 

Logan Kelly, instructor and operator of Sky Harbor, will pilot the ship on all charter trips. Arrangements for trips can be made by calling Joe Davis, 651 or Mrs. Berau at 322 R. Mrs. Berau plans to install a phone at the airport later.
