My dear Mr. Levy:

Thank you for your letter of September 8th in which you so generously agree to lend us your painting "Young Girl with a Tambourine" by Judith Leyster.

This group of Dutch masters promises to be a splendid exhibition and I am deeply grateful to you and Dr. Valentiner for puting this canvas at our disposal.

This exhibition will have its opening in [[underlined]]Detroit on November 2nd[[/underlined]]. The date of the Press view for New York had been arranged but because of the postponement of the opening of the Van Diemen Galleries we were obliged to have our first showing outside New York and have indeed not yet definitely decided upon the dates. I shall see that you receive notice of this showing when it does take place.

Please be assured that the painting is adequately insured by us and will be given the greatest care while loaned to us.

Sincerely,
