I'm not in politics and I only can speak publicly on an aesthetic basis, but I must say the war was [[strikethrough]] outrageous.[[/strikethrough]] ^[[Terrible]] [[strikethrough]] When [[/strikethrough]] I was in Japan after the war.  [[strikethrough]] I found none of the artists had been able to paint. [[/strikethrough]]  I didn't meet many Japanese who were not in museums or the art world but the changes in everyone's life must have been [[strikethrough]] incaluable [[/strikethrough]] ^[[unbeleavable]].  What happened to the average Japanese?  [[strikethrough]] One a [[/strikethrough]] On a cosmopolitan scale  The Japanese are an ambitious hard-working people.  ^[[Their crafstmanship is fantastic]]  They have tremendous charm and great dignity.
