Johnston AQM with request that the amount of lime required in the enclosed requisition be immediately furnished to Dr. Niles as it is greatly needed for Sanitary purposes in the Freedmens Hospital at Morehead City [[signature]] Richard Dillon [[/signature]] Capt VRC and Asst Supt [[line]] [[strikethrough]] State of North Carolina Carteret County Know all men by these presents that I Mary C. Thomas do bargain and will sell unto C.R. Thomas for as in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred Dollars to me in hand paid. The receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and by these presents I have bargained and sold [[/strikethrough]] [[line]] Beaufort N.C. Dec 24th 1866 [[Margin]] Robinson John D. General I would respectfully ask for the restoration of a parcel or tract of land situated lying and being in Carteret County State of North Carolina a description of which land may be seen by reference to the accompanying Copy of two deeds of bargain sale Made by Mary B. Thomas & M.C. Thomas. the land is now in possession of the Freedmens Bureau and I have not troubled heretofore to make application for the same as I am not residing here but in New Berne and for other reasons. I enclose Copy of Amnesty Oath taken to day. I have taken this Oath [[nevermore??]] heretofore the late Provincial Governor W.W. Holden of N.C. when I entered upon the duties of Provisional Secretary of State for North Carolina now in May 1865. The certificates I presume has been lost. Respectfully requests the restoration of his property situated on Bogue Banks Carteret County N.C. as described in the within leases [[footnote]] 3 enclosures [[line]] Bureau RF and A Lands Hd Qr Sub Dist of Beaufort N.C. Beaufort N.C. Dec 24th 1866 [[Margin]] Churr Respectfully forwarded to Bvt Lt Col J F Churr AAA Genl to Lt Col S. Moore V.R.C. Supt. The within named property is part of the tract on Bogue Banks Carteret County N.C. The former owner is described on the records of this Office as unknown I respectfully recommend its restoration. December 29th 1866 [[Margin]] Dillon Capt VRC and Asst Supt Sir I have the honor to inform you that the lime which was ordered on My Requisition dated Dec 14th 1866 for 5 Brls of stone lime has not been received.
