Johnston

Respectfully returned to Lt. Col. T.P. Johnston with the further information that the $8 00/100 paid Col Moore and which I received and receipted for was due R.L. Selleck by Dr Niles for transporting Hospital stores from Beaufort to Morehead.

The $10 I claim I paid R.L. Selleck for transporting Rations from Beaufort to Swansboro Onslow Co. I sent Vouchers for the Amount signed by R.L. Selleck (also a hot Voucher) to Col Stubbs The reason it was not paid I was informed was that it was not taken up on a No 2. This I have done on you suggestion as noted in Col S Moore endorcement by forwarding supplementary No. 2 for the month of Augt. 1866

The Vouchers for $21 50/100 I have made anew and forwarded them thro. Col Moore office for approval.

Please let me have what due as soon as convenient

Sir
On making inquiries of Capt Dillon regarding the purchase of a house in this place known as the Wash house he refers me to you Said house I think is 60 feet long by 32 feet wide and I think contains about 7 and or 8 thousand feet of lumber there is no [[?]] or doors in it, and some of the weather boarding and flooring gone also there is the roof of the wood house at the end of it, nothing but the roof and a few post standing, all of the weather boarding gone. I think that them both would be worth $60 - sixty Dollars, if you would be willing to take that price I would purchase them, or by letting me know upon what terms you would sell them, you would oblidge me much I would respectfully refer you to Capt Dillon as to who I am.

Respectfully forwarded to Bvt. Lt. Col. T.P. Johnston Chf Q.M. with recommendations that the within buildings be sold and all others at Morehead City, the property of the Bureau, as there are no grounds to protect them unknown parties are continuously stealing part of them. In a short time there will be little, if any part of them left.
