[[underlined]] Articles of Agreement made [[/underlined]] and entered into this seventh day of April A.D. 1868 between [[underlined]] Bvt Major J. M. Brown [[/underlined]] Disbursing Officer of Bureau Refugees Freedmen and Abandoned Lands, of the one part and [[underlined]] K. H. Lambell [[/underlined]] of Washington City of District of Columbia of the other part

This Agreement witnesseth, that the said Bvt Major J. M. Brown D.O. for and on behalf of the United States of America, and the said K. H. Lambell, his heirs, executors and administrators, have covenanted and agreed and by these presents do mutually covenant and agree to and with each other as follows, namely:-

[[underlined]] First [[/underlined]]. . . .  That the said K. H. Lambell, his heirs, executors, and administrators, shall furnish and deliver (100,000.) One Hundred Thousand, and upward, good merchantable [[strikethrough]] dry press [[/strikethrough]] brick, at Square No 1054. Capitol Hill Washington, District of Columbia.

[[underlined]] Second [[/underlined]]. . . .  In consideration whereof the said K. H. Lambell shall receive the sum of ($11.50/100) eleven dollars and fifty cents per thousand, for every thousand brick furnished and delivered as above,- payment to be made upon the delivery of One hundred thousand (100,000) bricks, after inspection and acceptance by a designated Officer of the Bureau Refugees Freedmen and Abandoned Lands.
