[[underlined]] Articles of Agreement [[/underlined]] made and entered into this twentieth day of April A.D 1868 between [[underlined]] Brvt Major J. M. Brown, [[/underlined]] Disbursing Officer Bureau Refugees, Freedmen, and Abandoned Lands on the one part, and [[underlined]] Thomas Fahey [[/underlined]] of Washington City District of Columbia of the other part.  

This agreement witnesseth, That the said Brvt Major J. M Brown, D. O. Bureau R. F. and A. L. for and on behalf of the United States of America, and the said Thomas Fahey, his heirs, executors and administrators, have covenanted and agreed and by these presents do mutually covenant and agree to and with each other as follows, namely:-

[[underlined]] First [[/underlined]] .... That the said Thomas Fahey, his heirs, executors, and administrators, shall furnish and deliver at square No 1054, "Capitol Hill," Washington, D. C. all the lime required in the construction of the tenement houses, now being erected by the Bureau R. F. & A. L at that place.

[[underlined]] Second [[/underlined]]... All lime furnished, to be of the best quality, and delivered at such times, and in such reasonable quantities, as may be required by Mr. C. W. Perkins, or an Agent of the Bureau R. F. & A. L. acting in his place, said delivery to begin on the signing of this Contract. 

[[underlined]] Third [[/underlined]].... In consideration whereof the said Thomas Fahey shall receive for every ^[[barrel]] [[strikethrough]] bushel [[/strikethrough]] of lime delivered and accepted after inspection by the designated Agent of the Bureau R. F. & A. L the sum of ($1.45/100)
