B 97 ACDC Vol 4 68

[[strikethrough]] Their was [[/strikethrough]]

There may have been no corruption on the part of the Judges; but, certainly, there was no show of justice to be obtained before them, on behalf of colored men with colored witnesses.

I have to express the kindness and fairness exhibited in the prosecution of this case on the part of Mr Belt, the State's attorney.

There is nothing more can be done on behalf of Bond [[underlined]] in the Courts of Maryland [[/underlined]] — No errors of law were committed by the Court, as to admission or rejection of evidence, & no appeal or writ of error will lie to correct their findings

The only relief for him is in obtaining a pardon from the Governor of the State, & of that I have but little hope.

I have to express my entire & firm belief in Bond's innocence, & my sorrow at his untimely fate."
