Dear Sir
I received a communication from your department, about ten days since, asking for information respecting some property alleged to have been fraudulently obtained from Mrs Alice Lee Freed woman Severe illness prevented an earlier reply.  I have some investigations of which this is the summary.  Some months since John Lee husband of Allice committed a murder at the Sweet Springs Va and made his escape and it is said that he is now in the United States service.  He was then owner of two horses and a hack.  Sometime after her husband fled Mrs Lee took this property to Lewisburg, and desired to sell it to Mr Kelly.  Mr Kelly refused to purchase but found a purchaser in person of Thomas Feamster, stage agent at Lewisburg, as far as I can learn there a fair bargain and sale Mrs Lee was to receive two hundred dollars for the property.
