I,  N. S. Wright, of Alexandria County Virginia - 
hereby agree to Sell and deliver to H. N. Howard Agent Bureau R. F. and A. L. and Superintendent Freedmens Village Va One thousand (1000) cords of Merchantable Oak & Pine wood, at the rate of Seven (7) dollars per cord for Oak wood - and Six (6) dollars per cord for pine wood - to be delivered at Freedmens Village Va as fast as said Howard shall require it for use of said Village beginning as soon as the first day of May 1868.

I, H. N. Howard - Agent Bureau R. F. and A. L. in consideration of the above Contract, agree to purchase of N. S. Wright aforesaid - one - thousand (1000) cords of wood as above, and will pay, or cause to be paid to said Wright in United States money, the above rates, upon the delivery of each fifty (50) cords of wood at this Village.
